About alternate NPC questgivers

I've seen some chatter about folks not being able to do or go on quests
(like Gnolls) because of IC conflicts with the group sponsoring the quest. A possible solution would be to create alternate quest giving locations or placeables that permitted entrance to the quest but without the payouts of the original NPC giver. I'm not sure of the scripting involved of course but it might be workable and avoid the silly/uncomfortable metagaming that comes with the current system - "you go talk to him and I will wait here".

I don't know... There are A LOT of quests to do nowadays, especially in the 6-7 range. You don't need to be able to go on every single one of them.

Dislike. Not all characters should be doing every quest, otherwise inter-faction relations   become pointless.

In principle I agree with this. The problem is that it is regularly metagamed around by having someone add you with the quest tool. So. In the spirit of that, how about...

1. Penalizing the metagaming with increased DM presence resulting in some RP to justify why you are there
2. Modifying the script to look for the presence of certain faction items and hen having the quest giver refuse to give the quest or maybe provide a lesser reward.

I like it the way it is.  Working around the quest giver makes opportunity for more IG conflict between factions.

I really don't think I've seen this create conflict in any form ever. Having some quest givers like this certainly is not a problem, but a large portion of the quests are given out by a faction NPC. A little less of the factions being involved and perhaps even less NPCs (or ones that care about subraces) would offer some more variety.

With the XP being less in this setting people are spamming quests a lot more often, and spamming the same ones too often, at least in my opinion.
