Relinquish

Annual feast of powerleveling. I support.

Divine Intervention

You are logged in for a very small portion of the day, it's safe to assume that you eat, sleep properly, wash etc in the time not spent online.

I can understand if a must-eat-food sistem is implemented for a group of PC who should be roleplaying a challenge at eating. If the next chapter is a barren wasteland where everyone is starving, i fully support a food sistem that forces players to eat. Hence why wildlings, maybe barbarians and rangers could have some fun finding the food, else please no.

Food items should really be primarily considered for long-term missions, IE, multi-day DM quests. There are times where a DM will put you on an 'extended' mission where you have to bring food or deal with a debuff from hunger. They're not too common, but out there to make an appreciatable touch.

Yalta

If people want to RP being hungry go for it, nothing is stopping you. If however others don't want to they shouldn't be forced to.

Quote from: Spiffy Has;254653Sounds like a food/water system which detracts from actual RP. People would just buy sporebread, use it, and move on.

Not supported, as there would be no RP behind it.

There've been applications, such as the /c roll commands that could have an emote applied automatically to accomidate the natural lack to want to roleplay eating bread, "[Eats a loaf of spore-bread]" and then leave it up to the player to expand or leave it as it.  I've always wanted a good food/drank system.

Doctor Mambo

Yeah, there's no real need to eat and drink in a good roleplaying game for the same reason most books don't include every time the main character eats a potato or wipes his ass or whatever.  The only time food matters to a story is when a character has gone a very long time without it and is dying, or when a character is participating in some sort of political dinner ceremony like Dune when they first get to Arrakis.

When cooking was implemented, it was hinted that some of the harder recipes would have useful effects. I'd suggest if you're interested in food to see what you can create using Cooking.

TakenbyUndeath

I don't know about anyone else, but I've been actively cooking and seeking new recipes for almost two months now and I have a LOAD of recipes, but I have never found a single one that has an actually useful effect.

Having said that, being able to cook has provided some interesting RP opportunities that I would have missed out on otherwise.
