Relinquish

Many quests have means of seeing through invisibility already. Dispel wards, true seeing monsters, smart AI (Not all dire rats need to be able to chase down invisible people though)

Staring Death

Being invisible is hardly that good a protection. That said, if you were so intent on people not relying on invisibility, there's this spell, invisibility purge which would do great and save a lot of time on scripting.

good suggestion.

Aye kin.

I also approve of this idea. Similar, I think, to Mass Ultravision, though obviously more powerful. Might it be possible to instead make this a special rare item held by -some- Hero NPCs, or even a level 5 spell? And I wonder, is there a precedent for this spell in PnP that could be borrowed from?

Invis Purge would kill the concealment on Imp Invis, and suffers from the old "You can outrun your own aura" bug. If you're new here, it might be worth getting on some of the high level quests where you're facing attacks from behind, enemies with Tremorsense, being surrounded, extremely powerful bowmen etc. before deciding that Invisibility is a cheap trick in need of nerf.

If you want to play an "exciting" wizard, perhaps instead you should use Blur etc. and let the players that don't want to play an offense wizard use the easy defence. EfU is a tough server, and Invisibility serves a purpose. Defending you or giving you a chance to heal, rebuff or escape, at the cost of being unable to attack or be seen and healed by an ally. It's not an insignificant cost, and it's not an infallible defence. I'm surprised you haven't noticed Orc berzerkers hearing you then proceeding to chase you across half the map despite being too far back to be able to hear an invisible PC.

Mort

Summoners didn't get hit bad. Certain summoning themes did. Mostly the default ones that were never meant to be powerful. It's still one of the most powerful specialization.

Ebok

Invisibility is suppose to help save your life, it's EFU 101. Also, I second the mass summon buff insanity, because that is honestly far more powerful then you give it credit for.

Slaad theme comes with *spoilers* already. Ooze theme has vanilla *spoilers*.

I still fail to see how this spell would be omfg OP for player use in term of PvP. Nearly everyone carries at least several potions of see invisibility or even a wand of it.

What is it's comparison to Magic Circle Against Alignment, which can give your entire party a mind ward and +2 saves against 90% of the mobs on the server(Except animals). It also lasts five times longer and is a tier lower.

Ebok

Those theme'd are balanced in ways to account for such. Other themes are not.

Arch Rogue

Wizards actually waste spell slots with invisibility on quests?

Scripts are already in place to counter invisibility from NPC side. If you are off doing your own thing and not actively fleeing, its pretty haphazard under the current mechanics.

I can see the use of such a spell for a conjurer. There are certain creatures that are outright immune to invisibility however, which may be summonable provided you use existing systems to temporarily change your theme.

Failing that, just drop your level 5 summon of death and tag him with see invis. The Summoner archetype should have some vulnerabilities and particular builds are almost fullproof even without special wanding.

This will perhaps injure spawns a bit more then it will help summoners or pcs, As a good deal of risers and orcs and gnolls I think- Use it often to get the drop on pc's and add that extra bit of spice.

My 2 cents for what its worth.
