Greetings Sirs and rare madame,

I am suffering from a unique and perplexing problem called the internet. Due to my eventful moving to the apartment which has been paid for an entire year by my parents, they neglected to provide a wireless router to which I may secure my own connection, and thusly, I am using unsecured wireless connection for the time being. An ethernet cable is required, so I presume that this implies my connection is cable and otherwise solid.

Alas, I cannot connect to the multiplayer aspects of NwN, I have not tested this in regard to the other games in my collection.

However, the Mighty, Putrid Plum has stated this might be due to the port blockage universities enforce upon their students. He has no idea how to go about circumventing, or getting them unblocked.

I am at a Loss, EFUers, I dearly desire to play EFU before my classes begin, but while I am stuck in this facility, it cannot be.

Please, help me.

Truly,

Thomas

How can you use an ethernet cable on a wireless connection? I am confused. Is it wireless or is it wired? Also are you stealing internet from someone random, or is this your school's ethernet connection?

Coldburn

It has something to do with ports, so it can be done if you change what port you use I think? I'm as tech-savvy as a loaf of bread but I've heard about these things several times. I think Garem had the same problem years ago when he moved to campus to play BallBall.

How old is the router you are using?

I had a similar issue when I was at a friends house trying to login. The router was years old (5+) and didn't support the ports required to run NWN. Worth checking perhaps.

Wired, my apologies. I have just used wireless my entire life.

I'll do some asking around.

Use a 3G dongle if worst comes to worst.  If you can get a 3G signal where you are, NwN is perfectly playable.

What was it that fixed the problem? Just for future reference.
