Put the fort back in Orcs, or something?

Well, I've used what seemed to me to be common sense, and been subsequently accused of gaming the AI.

I'm not trying to start a bunch of drama here, because I have -zero- complaints with the way the DMs handle these issues. They always come out on the side of fairness and overall game balance, and they have earned my complete faith in their decisions through repeated and consistent badassery and honesty. I also don't mean to pick on Caster13, but I'm sure he knows that already.

My comment was mainly intended to address the somewhat common attitude that PCs are somehow breaking an unwritten rule when they do things like pull aggro on Orcs 1. The quest is impossible without some amount of tactics, and the only tactics we have available to us are versus the AI. It's not like we can toss out a T-bone steak and cast Confusion on the orcs who start fighting over it.

That actually sounds pretty fun... :)

Quote from: Ebok;247709Pulling aggro is not AI abuse, it's intelligent warfare. You pull aggro in actual combat situations as well. However, I have no interest in doing this quest at all as it is, and since I'm a quest addict, that's actually impressive.

The tactical squad shall draw enemy fire, enabling the devastators to attack from a posistion of strength.

In seriousness though the issue is the orcs having direct LOS on everyone at all times causing scout and fireball spam death. Why not just throw some rocks that pcs can run behind to lose LOS but that orcs won't get hooked on.
