Allow me to clear up a few misconceptions with regards to alignment. Lots of people think because EfU offers a slightly 'Greyer' area, that means that the setting is overwhelmingly Neutral, or offers some postmodern take on D&D where everything is relative. Good and Evil are set in stone, it is true. But the implications of these definitions are not. That is to say, while a world ruled by each extreme would likely be quintessentially Good or Evil, the conflict between these two forces lend us the moral ambiguity that give EfU its teeth.

For example - when the Dominion is in crisis, difficult decisions are often needed to save the majority. Decisions that a Good character would not necessarily make. Similarly, the constant antagonism between the two extremes often leads to pain and suffering that could be avoided had this conflict not arisen.

It is these questions that makes EfU interesting, not a kind-of homebrew relativism that doesn't make sense in the setting.

DM Edit : If you’ve got a point to make, please state it eruditely. Those deemed to be pointlessly slinging shit will be banned.

How did it go from asking players if they cared about the story to alignment and factions?.

DangerousDan

Because of what you said and how you said it.
