it's a good song now, rather than a gamebreaker, but the extra attacks are rather all or nothing. Both are granted at L8, and mean that a PC using it gets a sudden boost in power, gaining their second base attack and the two bonus Song attacks on the same level. It goes from ho-hum to suddenly badass and rewards powerquesting to get that level above all others. I'm mentioning this as I've been talking to bard players that didn't even realise that it gave extra attacks, or when they got them, as they don't show up on your char sheet. There's no indication that Battlemarch becomes super-good at 8.

If Battlemarch gave +1 attack at 7, it would space things out a bit and let moderate level bards use it to gain an early 2 attacks a round, while still leaving it out of reach for multiclasses like my PC. It does seem to be that a pure bard will use other songs until 8, then rock out with it when it suddenly becomes a kickass personal buff. Since I hear some songs have "pure bard only" bonuses, maybe this could be set to be one.

tl;dr:
NOT suggesting making Battlemarch ridiculously good again. Am suggesting making it give +1 attack at 7, +2 at 8, rather than +2 out of nowhere. This would make it good for PCs that don't quest up to 8.

I don't think it should give +2 bonus attacks ever. A lvl 8 bard with haste and that song has 5 attacks/round, No thanks. Six attacks if they are lol and use a quarterstaff.

It gives 2 attacks? It should only give one. Perhaps you're speaking of the second attack that bards naturally get at level 8 due to BAB progression?

I think he is. His point is, a bard is level 7, the he is suddently 8 and gains 2 attacks (battlemarcher + second attack) wich doesn't look progresive at all. One minute you're figthing as normal, the second you are 300% faster in your attacks,

Howlando

.... except, correct me if I'm wrong, but the extra attack comes at 6 bard levels.

Which is even better than the suggestion and more than that - already in effect!
