I just want to post this discussion transcript from IRC which got me banned there.
 
I want to add that I am dissapointed that childish behavior of NWN admins still seem to persist after all theese years. The IRC chats seem to draw upon the worst in people also...
 
I know we are discussing a touchy subject...at least for the admins of this server it appears to be touchy....but it is really a somewhat well contained discussion until it appearently detoriates.
 
I beg you to notice that the only thing I do in the chat is to bite back at unrespectful comments in the same way. This happends two times and then I am banned from the chat without a warning.
 
So instead of warning the chatter that calls me a troll he decides to bann me from the chat. I definately don't like to be called a troll and I think no one likes it. It is definate way of getting rage from me. I think it is just a generic way of disrespecting your discussion counterparts.
 
Another thing I wonder...being admin on a server open to the WORLD...are you really thinking about that there COULD be other cultures other than yours currently present? Cultures where abreviating a swear word won't instantly get you sent to Guantanamo...? Just a note...

I hope the admins are not taking sides here and just because there is a touchy discussion, which the admin does not seem to be interested in anyway....why not let it slip....or at least warn both of us?

Note that the other themes I bring into the discussion, although interesting, have already been discussed on this forum so they do not necessarily need more discussion. This thread is only about if the ban was really necessary or not....

I think you bring up your opinion, but when ever you were asked "Why?" Or "How do you think so?", you never bothered to back up your words.

As much as it is your opinion, it's never certainly anything pleasant to hear nothing but negativity when there are no reason given to back it up properly.

I am just saying that from that text piece there, I see you have issues with the idea of staying in character within the game, but that's usually how most like it. Irc is a great way of socializing as well, but folks usually jump in game to have fun while roleplaying and throwing random jokes to each others at times.

You gave a lot of opinions on what you did not like, and gave no explanation to why you did not like them. In the end, there's games like world of warcraft if you want the hack&slash with social trash-talking on the side. It's fun, but efu is just a place for other kind fun.

Edit:

And folks get kicked/banned all the time to take few minutes of chilling time. It's not any bigger deal than you make of it - this not helping it at all.

As I said in the chat...it is complicated...and I have been in many similar discussions on the Bioware social boards (where you thankfully not yet are being banned for having oppinions that may stray of the mainstream)...so I kind of didn't feel I wanted to repeat the whole discussions and the different points...even though I did agree to provide them in voice chat....
 
That I didn't provide proof for my negative thoughts doesn't mean that other chatter can bash me and end up in a ban...that is just childish...

I think you have no idea what you are talking about and the admin decidedly banned you rather than put up with your ill-conceived, nonsensical judgements.

Maybe you just rubbed the guy the wrong way. If you want to play or hang out in the efu community, put up with it.

I say this because we all know Howland is a fair guy, and efu is not just some campfire server. Everyone that has played here over the years can truly appreciate what this server is about and how legitimately loyal it has been to the playerbase. This is nearly impossible in a PW with multiple DMs coming in and out of the picture.

So basically:

Because you didn't feel like it, just spewing out what ever you were thinking and giving the high finger to other guys who made a notice of you not bothering to explain - yeah. That tends to happen. No one was bashing you in any way or manner. It was light joking when they didn't get any answers out of you.

I'm quite sure you've experienced it among children, when kids keep saying and claiming to be better/doing that and that/knowing this and that, yet not bothering to explain when/where/how - it tends to usually cause nothing but conflict and make one look really bad. In that point it seems like ranting and trolling - so yes. Ban was in place, and this post just points it out.

You don't play here, when you played here you were frankly a bad player, and you came into #efu with the intention of insulting the server and provoking a heated discussion. "Trolling" for an argument as it were. This combined with the fact that you stooped to personal insults made the ban an easy decision to make.

You could have certainly decided to speak with me privately if you had honest intentions and wanted to discuss an issue related EfU in a civil manner, but instead you are continuing to Troll by going to our forums.

I can certainly understand that the high-quality and level of RP in EfU is not to everyone's taste, and I can also understand that some players might dislike the no-party mechanic system, but if that is the case you can easily find other places to play. Your behavior here is inappropriate.
