I was thinking.. instead of barbarians having 10% damage immunity at 5 and then 20% at 8 or w/e it is, their skill should be based on their rage.

So instead of that i would suggest:

Keep the Charisma bonuses as they are thats cool.

At 5 in rage gain damage reduction 5/1 for the duration of rage upon leaving rage get -1 to strength and constitution for the same duration as rage.

At 8 in rage gain damage reduction 10/2 for the duration of rage upon leaving rage get -2 to strength and constitution for the same duration as rage.

Obviously then have the damage reduction removed that you would ordinarily get. Perhaps this could be made into a perk even so a barbarian would have a choice which way to go but i think it could work well. Opinions..?

Divine Intervention

10/2 DR is incredibly strong even for short durations, barbs are already very powerful in unbuffed combat and this would make them nigh invicible in such fights.  I think the current stats are fine as they are.

One_With_Nature

I think it represents the barbarian tapping into their rage more effectively but also suffering the drawbacks from these powerful performances. Maybe 10/1.

Paha

You need to understand that pure DR is beoynd normal.

Damage immunity is like builded resilience to pain/damage but DR in itself, like 10/+2 is just beoynd anything normal. Not even lycans have that.

One_With_Nature

Well then perhaps like 75% piercing/slashing/Bludgeoning immunity in rage or something. What barbarian do in rage in pretty abnormal by most standards.

Paha

Naturally, and in nwn and so it's supernatural ability definitely, but still that they would get 15 dmg out of 20 is still absolutely silly.

I could surely understand something like 5 dr or so in range, pretty sensible, but anything more would require something much more than it just being a normal rage.

This is just my opinion of course.

Ebok

I think barbarians damage reduction is intense as is. They do not need nor warrant any additional increase.

I don't like this idea. The barb DI is good because makes barbs a bit more useful when -not- raging. Also portraits better the barbaric recklessness. As for DR or DI when raging, I heard one can earn certain types of rages, based on concept/flavor, of course. If any changes/improvements in the barbarian class should be done, I think it's rewarding more for less armor used. Less AC, more savagery.

I thought rage was meant to make you more vulnerable as a tradeoff for more attack/damage.

Shamtastic

After just playing a barb for some time, NO is the appropriate response. They are well balanced and fine, as is.

TheImpossibleDream

I think "LOL" is the appropriate response.

I also think barbs would be better if they were impossible to kill without GMW.
