Its sort of lame when these can cast fireballs and magic missiles from across the map, further than a pc can even see.

Luke Danger

While I haven't been up there getting caught in these, I find it a nice touch, sort of brings a 'fire support' element to deal with. (litterally on the fire part :) )

Relinquish

Well, I was on the quest where they were fireballing us and if you use angles you can certaintly see them.

Jayde Moon

I am frequently the target of spammed spell attacks by mobs (see the screenie in the Funny Screenshots thread).

I once got firebombed by a few of these guys casting back to back, multiple times.  The third fireball in nearly as many seconds fugued me.

It was AWESOME.

The OSPs as they are are perfect, IMO.

Caddies

Their range is incredible, but I think this is actually quite cool even though I've died a few times after being bombarded from afar by fireballs from hostiles I can't see. You really have to use your surroundings, and keep the LOS in your advantage at all times. I'd be sad if this got changed!

Letsplayforfun

Yep, the long range of AI (archers included) it pretty tough, but actually fun to play with because it forces PCs to use terrain to break the line of sight of the opponent. And since the AI is pretty poor tactic-wise, this kind of thing makes up a little for it and makes fights more interesting.

JackOfSwords

They are PROPHETS!  Of course they can see you coming before you get there!

Pup

Yep.  This quest rulz.  Super-hard and relentless.  Prepare to... retreat!!!
"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whisky, and 14 karat gold?"
"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."

"Maybe there's just one revolution.  The good guys against the bad guys.  The question is, who are the good guys?"

I can has fun?

IMHO, this quest is just about perfect the way it is. Please don't change a thing.

Major, major kudos to the creator or creators of this one, you have raised the bar, along with the hairs on the back of my neck.

Germain

You might want to drop your camera angle abit and you might be surprised to suddenly see those pesky shamans. That's what I do at least. :)

No one sees farther than Thane.  He has somehow found the illusive 1st person and somehow it comes with elven sight.

I once saw him pick off every archer on Scalemount.  Thing is, we were on the Castle quest.

Terrain do not blocks arrows or spells, one time sighted, it will hit, no matter what done.

Jayde Moon

That's actually a misconception and a result of the fact that combat in NWN is not actually real time but is turn based as per DnD.

The illusion of real time can lead one to believe that terrain will not stop arrows or spells, when arrows and spells seem to cut those corners while you retreat.

Line of sight MUST be present for an archer or spellcaster to attack.

Once the attack is made, however, it will follow through, even if, in the time it takes the fireball or magic missile or even arrow to fly across the space between you, you run behind a wall.

This is the same phenomena that shows a sword or axe hitting you, even though you turn to run at the beginning of the swing and are ten feet away as the swing occurs.  You were in range when the attack rol was made, thus the visual representation of where you are in relation to the attacker does not matter.

If you get hit after leaving line of sight, it's because the attack roll or spell cast happened BEFORE you left line of sight.  You won't get hit again until you re enter line of sight.
