Free/Cheap healing from the Ilmateri Temple in the Docks

They are Ilmateri, but they point-blank refuse to heal injured people. Does this suggestion really need more explanation? :P

It would be good to have services offered there, especially for Docks PCs who wouldn't want to pay off an Umberlant. I would suggest Healing at a low price, status effect removal and Endurance (to help you endure pain).

Bearic

I think it's probably a balance issue, but I can make up a fake answer as to why not: the priest spends all his healing on curing beggers and kids. ^_^

Endurance or such seems like a good idea, though.

Disco

There is already an npc in the ziggy that offers FREE healing, I dont see a problem with having free healing in the temple either.

Bearic

There is? Oh, I didn't know that. =]

To be honest... I have a little problem with NPC priests being used as heal-o-matics...

I doubt that any of the gods would grant healing to those who do not even respect him and simply lie to priests to have wounds cured...

I'd like the idea of free healing to those who have the same patron deity as the priest they are asking for healing. Those with similar alignment would have to pay but would be cured, and those who are not even remotly close with their behavior and thoughts to what that certain god stands for, would simply not be healed at all.... I guess that it would require a huge amount of scripting for little immersion gain, so probably all will stay as it is.

If you're lying, that's IC. If you really shouldn't be dealing with that cleric (eg a Loviataran going to an Ilmateri), that's bad RP.

The entire dogma of Ilmater, remember is about helping any person in pain or suffering to recover from it.

Listen in Silence

Yes, considering that it is an Ilmatari priest there certainly isn't any IC restrictions that ought to keep him from healing anyone.

I think the OP makes a valid point, on both suggestions.

SilentSouth

I 100% support this, as there is a free healing Illmatari priest in the Zig, a Torm priest who heals inside the citidale last time i checked, and another who offers healing in the newcomers tower.

I think cheap, or free healing should be offered in the Illmatar temple at the docks because i like to scrap in the wastrel and hate using up my precious consumables. :)

Divine Intervention

Pretty sure the one in the citadel is a cleric of Tempus.

I always thought that this NPC not offering healing or raise dead was kinda suspicious! Maybe there's a reason he doesn't?

Even if not, then I'd still be inclined to point out that anything we make NPCs do, we take away from PC to PC interactions!

Although I do believe that an Ilmatari Cleric should offer free healing to anyone regardless of faith or alignment, I have to agree with this.

Sorry yeah, your right, Tempus/Torm get mixed up.

He's actually a priest of Cyric!

As far as PC interactions go, I've had an "Ilmateri" offer healing, but no one ever shows up, so I wouldn't worry overly about interrupting that - it's kind of rare that people need it at the exact time a PC is offering it, in my limited experience.

Seriously, this just came to mind again. It's rather wierd that the entire Ilmateri temple is a healing-free zone. I'd like to update the suggestion to "Give them a healer preist and a copy of the Physician's store". It'd add flavour and make the place see some use too.
