A stupid question.

Hi, i am new to the server. And i have been waiting trying to get out of my current situation without meta gaming...

The thing is, i was searching for rats in some goblin sewers. and i somehow got into the water, i must have either walked into a waypoint or clicked one.

Now the second problem is, i do not know how to get up to the surface, when i moved back to where i entered there was no way.

Third, i found a new friend, a shark. Which off course kicked my bottoms.

So i lie half dead on the Flooded tunnel bed. Waiting for help.

And will loose everything i earned, But that is not the case.

I can accept the instance of my characters unfortunate situation slipping on the far end of a bridge.

But i would like to know, how do you get out of water!

(Reason i ask here is because my character at no time would even care the slightest about the matter that he drowned once or twice.)

Maybe die and respawn at a safe location? Then get someone to help you take the shark down and recover your stuff?

But as far as I know there should be a waypoint. Hold down the tab key an see if anything appears. If nothing appears report it to a DM.

You have likely clicked the placeable to jump down into the water, or try the other placeable to swing over, in which case you have failed and fell down.

There are ways out of the water, but it takes you to walk a while and at times there is the bad luck of having to face something in the water.

Keep a couple invisibility potions handy on a hotkey at all times. :)

I assume that if he just 'walked' into the water, Its that conspicious transition in the gobsquat where you can just use the Wasd buttons to get into the water. But have to click on a barely visible intangible point to get back up. (Try Tab is what i'd suggest).

Tab helps. Staying away from water entirely has served me well also.

:P

Seriously though, I think you must have accidentally gone through one of the transitions that you can't return from because you "fell" into the water from a point where you can't swim back to the surface. In which case you'll usually want to down an invisibility potion so you can avoid the sharks, leeches, and gelatinous cubes that like to live in the watery habitations of the server, and run around until you find a place you can swim to the surface. I also suggest getting a ton of bubbleberries before you get into a place even remotely close to water. They're consumables that can give you air when you start to run out.

Happy spelunching, newcomer. ;)

I believe I know where you're talking about, and TheBoomKing has it right. Although the tips here are helpful, sometimes you cannot simply click on a transition at all to escape the water (or whatever brand of danger you may find yourself in on this server)!

EfU is a server with a heavy emphasis on well balanced risk-reward. Swinging across vines over running water may require a Tumble check, for instance. Failure will lead to some sort of punishment- in this case, your character "falls" into the water and you end up having to swim around and find a way out!

Elsewhere on the server, not having someone who can spot traps with you may lead to your character tumbling down a dark, scary pit. Other times you may run across a unique transition down a "Freshly carved path through the woods..." only to realize that a beastly Ogre bandit is on the other side, guarding a horde of shiny gold.

Don't give up hope! Just be ready to learn from past errors and you'll notice that your characters start surviving much longer soon.
