I remember a while back, the DMs introduced a new stealth detection system where the PC would glow orange if he had been detected, however it was broke.

i think this was an excellent idea either way, i really don't know much about scripting but if there is a possibility this could be re-done and fixed that would be awsome.

I'ts nice to be able to know when you have detected someone, and even nicer to be able to see how effective your pc is at stealthing.

I think they said it to produce more lag than any other benefit.

More trouble than it was worth.

I myself did like the distinction between concealment, invisibility and stealth, but if it causes problems, then it's not necessary.

Ah i see, well was a good idea non-the less but, yes if it causes problems its deffinitely not worth it.

Portal Rat

It was a really good idea, though. R.I.P. EfU:A Steath Detection System.

Would a Detect Stealth player tool or command work? Rather than fire the script every time you make a Spot/Listen check, have one that on demand will cycle through all visible PCs (or a single clicked on PC) and give a Detect Evil style "[CHARACTER] is attempting to move unseen" combat log message. Listen works fine, but a tool like that would allow you to work out if a PC was Spotted or just not stealthed, without having to ask the player.
