Banned from the Server-why?

Hi, my name is Inteuniso. I hate for this to be my first topic on this forum.

Recently, one of my friends gave me a copy of Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition, and pointed me towards this server. As an avid fan of roleplaying, I could not wait to play. However, to say that my experience has been buggy is an understatement (apparently GOG gives out an incomplete install, and this results in crashes, silver skin, and other bugs. I can't seem to fix it either with a critical rebuild)

I did manage, however, to access the server, create a character, and make it to the equipment selection statue in the starting area. And then my game crashed when I tried to access the weapons selection screen.

After reinstalling it multiple times, I hope it might work, but when I went to connect, it could not and said I was banned. I have no idea why I would be banned; I hadn't even made it out of the starting area. If I'm not unbanned, I would at least like an explanation.

tl;dr NWN acting funky, trying to play, can't, banned, please unban!

PM me your PUBLIC CD key, that is, an 8-digit code starting with the SECOND letter of your key and every alternating second letter after that.

It turns out I needed to use a GOG cd key. That got me unbanned from the server. However, I still cannot connect to any server. It's not your issue though, it's on my side. Thanks for the quick response though!

What an odd problem. It seems to continue to time out, but only for certain servers. I can't tell any pattern of which ones it affects. Just curious, where is your server hosted? My ISP might have the bright idea to block certain countries, and that would explain the lack of connectivity to certain servers, but not all servers.

It was probably DNS issues somewhere along the track. If this happens again, run a traceroute to our server and see where the route dies. Probably some random NAT got frostbite or something.

Are you still seeing silver skins? I've experienced this when running on Windows Vista. Setting the executable (nwmain.exe) to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP fixed it.
