William Grafton- Missing item after dragging to bag

My character recently purchased a Dead Rat Arcanist (DM loot Wizard Flail), and upon dragging it to a bag with sufficient space to hold it, lost the item. I couldn't subsequently see it on the floor. It may have dropped under a placeable or been rapidly stolen, but it still seems odd.

I can confirm that one of my PCs sold this to him. I got it from a DM-possessed "trade elemental" of some kind, though I don't know the DM who was running the event.
