Summoned Shadow Mastiff (Summon shadow)

This summon is still a level 6 outsider, wich is going to make it increse the spawns greatly on defence quests. Could it be changed so it is a level 1 with adjusted stats?

Last time I checked this, it wasn't possible to use other summons with it either.

And i confirm it. Any other thing you summon when the mastiff is out, and the mastiff gets unsumoned. Also applies to other mastiffs, and they don't use summoning points.

Furthermore, their creature weapons can't be enchanted, since the weapons of other summons such as air elementals can, i assume this is unintended.

Mastiff is a permanent summon, that is why you can't use other summons with it.

lol. Try keeping a summon alive for 35 minutes! I've never seen one unsummoned though from having the duration end so I believe it is a permanent summon.

This spell is amazing anyhow. Beefy 13 AB beast, 2 attacks, fear howl, and with power attack that lasts an entire quest and can get 27+ AC easily? Yes please.

Ahmed used to use the thing as a guard dog for his store when it was open, kept it out for that long. Couple of points to bring up there. The main problem is it buffs spawns unlike all other summons, so it's more trouble than it's worth on some quests. A second one is that if I remember right, removing Party meant the fear howl can hit your allies, which is bad as you have no control over its use.

It's also quite dificult to protect agianst it's fear howl, because the mastiff is Chaotic Neutral.

And yes, what i was suggesting was the mastiff to be level 1 and have its stats adjusted so it doesn't spawn massive enemies on quests. But now that you bring the fear howl up, i can see how that is a big problem. Could it be made similar to the wolf animal companion fear howl? If i'm not mistaken, it was changed so it would only affect hostiles, for the same reason.

If you are summoning the equivalent of a L6, I think the spawns should increase.

I have no intention of changing the permanent summons. It is right and proper for something that sticks with you the whole quest to cause higher spawns.
