Tested this, and it still spawns you at the Default spawn at the base of the Zig.  (Which by the way really, really stinks when you are 'wanted'.)

Are you using the little placeable spawn point setter in the big bed room?

Yes, that is what I used and I spawned at the default.

Unfortunately this still isn't working correctly. You spawn at the default on the ziggurat map.
