Bilby's Greatest Trap

Lately, when I go into one of two certain hidden areas in Bilby's trap quest, I can't get back out. The grating that leads back to where you came from is too close to the wall, so my character just stands there twitching or not moving at all. It's happened four times in a row, and the fourth time I needed a DM to get me out.

I'd suggest moving the grates away from the wall.

Just wait a couple seconds then click the 'move action' icon in your action queue to cancel it. You should pop into your destination.

Or simpler yet, sometimes you just need to move away from it yourself to get the teleport to fire.

Clicking away will usually work, but not always. Cancelling the queue is your best bet.

Have tried exactly this for 5 minutes without it working.

Wouldn't it be easier to fix rather than make suggestions on how to bypass the fix?

Adding a transition or moving the grates away from the wall a bit would be desirable if possible.  It is a minor and unimportant bug in that it is possible to get around it, but is a glaring flaw in an otherwise neat quest.

This is definitely annoying, not to mention sometimes when you come out of the grate you inadvertently trigger a trap.  Very heart breaking when you are being extra-careful.

I suggest the grates be turned to face the open area instead of the wall, and a little more space be offered around them up top.  I understand the challenges of the quest, but when you come back up and immediately trigger a trap, that sucks pretty hard.

To my knowledge, there isn't anything to be done to fix it. So... yes. It is far easier to offer helpful suggestions on how to deal with the inherent bugginess of NWN.

We are saying you can change where the grate faces.  Also, you can push the traps out around where you come up so you won't inadvertently trigger them when you come back up.

And I'm saying I'm 90% positive the grates are already facing the best direction. And the trap wasn't part of the original post that I'm replying to.

If you do what I said in my post above

You will pop into your destination 99% of the time, with no inadvertant triggering of traps or the like. This is the easiest and best way to get around this bug.
