The Netherese Translations, Vol. I
A translation made by Sebastian Neuville, member of the Shrouded Isles Syndicate

Preface
This books contains the translations of the remaining books and tomes in the Nethere Recordhouse. All the years it was exposed to thieves make the records rather incomplete, but the remaining notes should be viewable by everyone, who has to live in this place exposed to ancient Netherese magics and undead guardians.

QuoteThese are the researches of Emthrotep of Nebezzdos, so named the Ymphiad, in the hope that the passing of years may last beyond memory. Three novitiates transcribed its text onto papyrus in the DXIII, as was instructed by Emthrotep. May their text instruct the young. May the Empire never fail. May the divine glory of Karsus radiate across the heavens.

I- In this year the son of Maranus Ymph who was called Zephulot the Explorer departs from the Enclave of Orbedal in the company of the Scholar Marethas.

III- In this year Zephulot Ymph is gifted audience by seven chiefs in seven countries. A raven and an ass follow in his path.

V- In this year Zephulot Ymph finds the Island which will be named Ymph, as was the custom of seeking. Houses are built, and fields planted. Merethas returns to Orbedal, and does not come to the Island Ymph again.

VIII- In this year the island Ymph becomes Dominion of the Empire, and First Colony of Orbedal. Mists settle, and the dreamers dream.

XXI- In this year Zephulot Ymph departs from Nebezzdos and does not return. The elders wall and mourn, and there are no more of his name upon Island Ymph. Ruins are uncovered, and scholars make journey from the Empire.

CCII- [ .. ] year Orbedal decrees that [ .. ] and the  [ .. ] shall no longer be tolerated. Ymph shall be so-named the Penal Colony Nebezzdos, and the Penal Colony Nebezzdos shall be administrated by the honorable Warden [ .. ] who gained his title and estates during the uprising of the Consul Azrim. Ark and trireme housing the indentured at the Penal Colony Nebezzdos. The great Mythal of  [ .. ] becomes [ .. ]. Storms break against stone. Stargazers are enchained. H'bala the Maiden's comes to the Penal Colony Nebezzdos, and may not leave. Her beauty claims eighteen and twenty hearts. Crops wither.

CCV- In this year Barakat who was called The Darkener comes to the Penal Colony Nebezzdos, and may not leave.

Thus ends the first part of the Ymphiad, in which Nebezzdos is founded and the indentured are bought to the Isle. The second part, in which Nebezzdos is lost from the Empire and the Nightrisers sleep no more can be found in the Secure Archives of [ .. ].
Tome II
QuoteThe Year CCCXII was the Year the Empire fell silent. The year Enclaves fell, and mists settled. Mothers wailed and babes weeped. Magick and [ .. ] ceased to work as they should, and the Empire fell silent and was not heard from again. No prison trireme arrived upon the shores of Ymph. Six months passed, and the Warden called for Conclave.

The Conclave of Silence was [ .. ] to behold. Hagrimm who was named the Artist held that the Empire had crumbled, and that a mans fate now wholly in his hands. The Warden countered that the Empire lived as long as its subjects walked- and that no man was free from bondage without leave. The hearts of the Dayrisers lay with him, and thus he affirmed himself: he was Warden and Imperator, gaoler and ruler. The empire lived in him, and its people. So it was to be.

Long live the Imperator Warden. Long live the Empire. May its glory radiate to the heavens.
