"Respawn in a safe place"

We've all been there before. Dead, no DM to move the monsters, few people online or no one you could ask for help.

Sure, you can respawn in a safe place, but getting back to your body naked is generally pretty unlikely since you don't have much hope of killing whatever killed you, with no gear.

My suggestion is to make the "Safe place" option, allow you to keep the items your PC had equipped at the time of death.

Losing potions and supplies is a setback, but it is one p much anyone could come back from, if they stick with it. But losing your gear to these unlucky incidents is kind of ugh tbh, especially if you have DM loot!

Portal Rat

This is why it's a good idea to keep enough gold for a few invisibility potions in the bank at all times. Assuming you can get new citizen papers, of course.

I think the fact that the equipment drops is meant for PvP, so the winner can loot the looser. But since you can't respawn in PvP, teleporting your bag and stuff to wherever you respawn once you click the respawn button would be nice.

hmm i dont know, when i respawn at a safe location, i always envision it that you were almost buried or torched but come gasping for life cv the last minute. i see no reason why you would have anything in that case...

Perhaps a choice? A short quest to get what you had equipped but in doing that will scatter the items that were in your pack randomly to all the junk piles. Or you can try and regain your pack

Getting killed should automatically destroy a portion of your gear, starting with your armor. I mean.... you just got smashed. Why is all your stuff in such pristine condition?

Listen in Silence

I've never really enjoyed this option, to tell you truly. Can only recall one time I've used it, and that time I ended up perma'ing the character later anyhow.

I don't see it being ever justifiable from an IC perspective... Definately wouldn't miss it if it were removed.

Add this function after the eating, sleeping and pooping enforcement please.

Staring Death

What? We don't have to go pooping? Damn. All this time wasted.

Gnome on the Strange

It's worse for wizards. We can't even equip a sling to fling the poop!

IMO, make it let you keep armor,  boots  and weapon BUT apply the subdual penalties to you for a considerable duration. You got away with whatever was in your hands, but you've had the crap kicked out of you and can't invis run back easily. I'd consider that a fair tradeoff, though my PCs tend to have about 300 gold in the bank to buy invis potions off Sugriam in case od respawn.

@LiS. I've used it plenty in my newbie days. And people using the respawn pption has led a few times to good RP in helping them get their stuff back. If you can't respawn somewhere safe, a TPK is perma, dying while exploring is perma....

The simple fact of the matter is this folks: It's there as an OOC consideration. It has no more to do with IC happenings than respawning does. It serves one purpose and one purpose only; to let your character continue through otherwise crap luck.
