More Random Encounters

I love finding a random encounter in the wilds.  I'm sure everyone else does also.  One of the best ideas ever IMO.

These freshen up the setting, generate added reasons for RP and "let's go check this out" type of experiences.

These are great, but I'd like to see more of them.  If one group going around and "harvesting" all the random experiences is a problem, then maybe they could all be tagged somehow that each character can only enter one of them?

More plz!

They are very cool, the issue I have with them are the stealth classes, like rangers/rogues/druids, who go around and loot them all up without killing the monsters.  I am not saying they ALL do this but it does happen often.  I do like the variety however.

DMS have firmly said in the past that you are supposed to kill the spawns when going for these.

Give the boss monster the key in these encounters.

Just because a DM says that doesn't mean a player will listen always.

IMO a player shouldb have the option not to kill the monsters and try to keep the loot, however i would add several "sentry" monsters with high listen/spot and able to see through invisibility.

But that is off topic-

More random enocunters would be good, very good.

I doubt the issue is PCs harvesting these things from stealth anymore. DMs did a very good job in implementing various things to not have this happen which is a good thing. Additionally, there seem to be a good number about already as long as you explore (which is their purpose).

Not interested in limiting the number of these a player can enter. Creates many hassles and funky situations.

More areas to explore could be considered in the future, but as it stands there are so many that I doubt most players will see them all for some time. This would be fairly low priority, however, as I'd rather spend that time creating new quests.

You could always make the ones that have been cleared, reset after a few hours + a random delay. This way they could appear in more than one location each reset, with different monsters and treasure, and no new areas would need to be created.

Maybe put a delay of 2 + (1d3) hours on the reset function?
