BANE: The Church of the Black Gauntlet

The title more-or-less sums it up.

Right now we're a faction dominated by Europeans, meaning that we have trouble mustering a real presence in the primetime American hours. So we're looking for people who play during American Primetime (4PM - 12AM EST). Of course, anyone interested in joining is welcomed to join regardless of playtime.

Here is what works best, but keep in mind that virtually any concept can fit with two caveats. First, they must[/u][/i] respect and obey the clergy of Bane. Second, no Druids or Paladins - which should be obvious.

What works best:
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Deity: Bane
Race: Human / Half Orc / Half-Elf
Class: Cleric / Fighter / Rogue / Wizard / Monk / Bard

If you want to be a leader in the faction then playing a Cleric of Bane is a must. All Cleric's fill a leadership role.

Some alternative concepts: Servants of Loviatar, Malar, Talona, and Mask are also welcome as they are allies of Bane. However, even if you do worship one of the deities listed, you will still be expected to show proper reverence to Bane and his clergy in order to enter and remain in the faction.

I won't go into any faction goals. We have goals, but the faction is somewhat purposefully left open ended. You can conceivably fit almost anything into the faction: from scheming politicians, power hungry wizards, assassins, Armsmen, Stygian's, merchants, abused servants, mindless goons - and the list goes on.

So if you play during American Primetime (4PM EST - 12AM EST) and are interested in doing something big, fun, crazy, and serving in-your-face-evil Clerics, then PM me, post here, or hit me up on IRC.

This is a pretty cool faction. If you want the kind of dictatorship warlord types this is a great faction. Just remeber it's L before the E, so disciplined or lawful characters will fit best. (These guys are not going to share brewskis on a friday night :P)

Still if you are new and looking for a group this is a great pc group. I've seen them rp and it's good rp. Bane is a fascinating diety, and there really is a ton of faerun lore about him. So if you want to learn faerun, this is also a great faction for that. :)

Sorry for all who PMed me. I just finished responding to them.

My modem died last week and the new one (plus a spare) arrived today. I should be back up and running later this evening and going full steam tomorrow. I'm playing a bit of catch-up, but the other members of the faction are still going strong.

The faction is really beginning to take off so if you want to join in roll up a PC and get involved, lots of Euro time action, as well as increasing US timed fun

This is my fault. I've been logging off early in the evenings when most of the Euro's log to avoid being one of the only Banites logged on.

The above still stands, but I'm posting here for an update.

The faction is in desperate need of additional clerics whose players want to fill LEADERSHIP[/u] roles in the faction. Cleric's are, in essence, the top dogs. They run the show.

LiS and I are the only Cleric's, and I just returned from a trip to New York to find that LiS has gone on a minor hiatus. It's very hard to run a large faction alone, and as such I -need- someone who is willing to step up to the plate and give some assistance. Which is especially true right now, as I think I've caught the Swine Flu.

An ideal Cleric would be one who is public, enjoys giving sermons, and is sane enough to juggle the various needs of individual faction members while pushing forward faction wide plots.

If you need a character and think you can fill this role come to our IRC channel #IronFist or PM me here on the forums. I'm willing to give guidance if needed when it comes to character creation.

Aww come on Meldread. I know at leas 7 people who have been diagnosed with H1N1 and had nothing but a common flu.

IMO you can shrug it off. It's mostly the paranoia. And we need tristram back. (even though i'm no longer there)
