New command for druids underwater.

So... I see that the underwater shapeshift bug remains. It is not quite as bad as it used to be, however and this gives me hope. Used to be that leaving the water was not enough to fix the speed problem. You had to unshift and leave the water.

Now, just leaving the water is enough. Which got me to thinking.

What if druids had a way to 'fake' leave the water to fix the bug?

For example, they could have a player tool or chat command that effectively removes the underwater move speed penalties for a split second. They are then re-applied immediately, as if they had transitioned out of the water and back in. The breath timer, however, would not reset. This would continue ticking away as normal.

Now, to prevent abuse from people spamming this and running around underwater with no move speed penalties... there would be a time limit on it's use. Once every five minutes should suffice. Not sure how frequent the server saves are but I'm certain they are less frequent than this.

This way, when a druid is shapeshifted underwater and fall victim to said bug, they can manually fix it. What's more, by making it manual you avoid adding aditional lag due to one more script firing constantly and automatically.

The only other solution I can think of would require this script to run automatically, stripping the move speed reduction just before a save and reapplying it afterwards.

Another solution could be to have the Druid Wildshape ability for say.. bears, run a check if the PC is underwater, if so, they become a shark that gets normal speed.
<@Mort> Dhund is on the money, imo

Dhund: There are shark forms available. The problem is that when the server saves, a bug with the wildshape/underwater system causes the move speed penalty to be applied several times over. Making you walk as slow as if you were heavily encumbered and in both stealth and detect mode. The only fix presently is to get out of the water.

Even the shark form is effected by this. And it gets a speed -bonus- underwater. But the speed penalty is always applied, regardless of form. The speed bonus was simply so great that it superceded the penalty.

Oh. Guess I should play a druid then to find out <_<

This is strongly encouraged.

I'm positive I can fix this if I look at it for a while ... like easily too. I'll check it out.

FleetingHeart

I would be so amazingly happy if this could be fixed >.<
