Well, I think all of us have done it atleast once by now:

-Log off without thinking deep in the docks/forest/etc
-Find yourself in the middle of 5/6 Nightriser Guards
-Be lolpwnt
-cry, and curse

Now: Every time it has happened to me, Ive very generously been helped by a DM. But Ive heard numerous horror stories about DM-less incidents of such.

So I recommend Nebudzznos gets a new toy: The Recall Device.

It would be in the empty room behind the Mythilar, and anyone who wants could take a small Cristal from it. If your "awake" (online), its useless and inert. But when it goes from day to night and you are offline, and you have a cristal, you will be teleported back to the top of the Zig.

This would save us so many wasted Cusswords.

Not going to happen, I'm afraid. You'll just have to learn to log-off in a safe area :(

Yeah, The issue is, its not always our decision.

RL happens, and when It does, we often need to log without getting somewhere safe.

EDIT: Just kinda relised it is mechanically simi-impossible. Ill just IRC and find out if its night or not before I log in if I emergency log. Maybe a !time?

This is one of the reasons I play alts. Something like that happens, I can log an alt, check the time and play them if it's suddenly gone to night.

It's probably best to carefully plan when to venture out or when you don't have the time and just stay inside for some light RP or the obligatory loitering around..

I'm rather surprised no one is expressing dissatisfaction with the "don't log (that character) in" response. I'd hate to be told I can't play, especially if I'm in a situation that wasn't my choice to enter.

What do people think about receiving (very) temporary Sanctuary when you log in and it's gone from day to night?

I'm confused.  How does this differ from the original EfU?  I regularly had to worry about being in a "safe area" when logging out.  Although I probably spent more time in the "wilds" than most of the player base.  Is it just that people are now finding themselves more commonly in "unsafe" areas?

With the lack of a city, I think you're right JackofSwords, that's the problem, there isn't as much safe areas as before.

There's plenty of safe areas, you'll have to learn where they are all over again, however.
