Some sort of counter to KD

Following the second time my wizard has been robbed using a sudden KD, this time while buffed, and thinking about how to prevent that, I've figured it's pretty much imposible mechanically short of walking around all day with extended imp invis up. More so than any other combat feat, this is a "win button" if you get a first strike in against anything that's not got mad AC or has Discipline.

On the other hand, if you load up on save gear it's possible to get a decent chance of ducking an incapacitating spell.

Is it possible to script say boots that will grant KD immunity a couple of times a day onhit, thus allowing wizards/sorcs/clerics/rogues a chance to retaliate? Or some other method short of class-restricted massive discipline bonus gear?

Discipline is an incredibly useful skill. And Knockdown is very, very good but not unbeatable.

A fighter could just as easily say the same thing about Hold Person. Fighters have almost no chance of stopping it, and Fighters can't cast invisibility to begin whereas a wizard, sorc, and some clerics can (and rogues have stealth). Nor can they cast spells to counter it, either. They can use consumables (expensive) or run, and that's ONLY if they see it coming and only works if you know your enemies alignment or with clarity pots for a very short amount of time.

Knockdown is not the problem here. Invis-o-ganks are. At least in the OP's opinion, I personally think they're fine. Tough to beat, but that's the point.

I have see some item against this spell (a simple and common potion of protection  from allineament, to some cloth that make you immune to hold person  )

Maybe a item only for wizard (or sorceror) that give you a +5 in discipline can be useful , if you feel the problem is Invis-o-ganks make hiding person visible with true sight perhaps can be the solution

I think there are Disciple potions in the mod.

Yes, there are. So this suggestion has been answered before it was even posted.

Nuclear Catastrophe

Cross class discipline.

The same can be said for hold person and PhK being an automatic 'win button'.  Don't cry because your wizard has a weakness, and you want that weakness taken away.

Oh yeah there are discipline potions in the mod ;)
