Scripted abductions : you'd kill them as usual creating a corpse, but you'd have entered Subdual Abduction Mode so you'd also enable a tool or a /c command that would true raise them when you were ready.  They would also get a message to this effect asking them to stay logged in, that they are not actually dead but unconscious and being carried.

If you yourself are subdued or killed, or too much time passes, the person is true raised automatically.

I actually kinda like this ... >.>

I think we already have this?  Like some kind of blackout mode?  This suggestion has been around for a long time.

TheImpossibleDream

We don't have it, this is done by with a DM to supervise and forewarned FD, carry them off, place them, TR! At least thats how Makumbo and I used to do it.

Luke Danger

Well, regardless, I like this idea. Makes it much easier to abduct rather than just driveby-gank

Didn't work and it was never taken out.

Very good idea. That would save the [drags him along] and the player either not willing, or slowed by shackles, or faking he is afk, or he is afk for real ... A new type of damage ... Abducting ... I really liked the idea.

I think this was a ScottyB project perhaps.

I do recall there were a lot of logistical things to consider, like what happens on a server reset, what happens if one person logs out (either the alive or KO'ed guy), what happens if that timer expires, what happens if you are 'rescued' (maybe nothing different?), can it be used to take people into locked areas, etc.

It's a good idea though.

ScottyB

I tried getting a PvP subdual "blackout" mode working, and failed. That there was any work on this was not publicly discussed before. The command was functioning exactly like regular subdual mode, I think.

Wern8

A simply brilliant idea. Yes, please.

BrittanyPanthas

I'd like this, but only if there was some indication that the person was carrying a living person around.

Not wanted. Just because everybody agrees, and it seems so good an idea.
