I don't know how it works, but if it doesn't, I'd suggest a auto-sending, like

"The voice of Captain Fyoris is heard in your head: "Filthy Goblins are attacking the settlement. All civilians, get indoors. Adventurers, get out here and fight. AND THAT MEANS YOU, MEAGLE!"

OK, the last bit was me giving Meagle a hard time, but otherwise, that's the general idea.

Also, have the attacks spawn somewhere, and march, so that if there's scouts, they can give forewarning to the Zig that the attack is coming.

I have been exploring just to see the new stuff, and I have to say, very cool. Especially non-hostile encounters and NPC parties. That sort of thing really gives the feel of a world as opposed to an "arena" or "level". Good job indeed.
