Fishing Skill/Ability/Quest

I was thinking about this tonight and there might be some merit here....THE ABILITY TO FISH!!!  

The way I think it could work (don't know how the script wizards implement these things) is your character's *base fishing skill is either Wis bonus+Int bonus+Dex bonus or the highest of those bonuses.

This skill could further be modified by equipment and bait.  
For example: Fine Fishing Pole: +2 to Fish  
                      Dead Bait: -1 to Fish
                      Live Bait: +1 to Fish
                      Treble Hook:+2 to Fish

The ability to catch X fish per hour IG would be based on your BASE fishing skill (see '*'.  I'm guessing this would top out at about 4-6) and would require X individual rolls to Fish.

The roll to fish I would prefer is a D100 roll (Fishing Skill total=12; 1-12=caught fish this attempt, 13-00=didn't catch fish this attempt) vs a DC check but whatever would be easiest to implement I'm all for.

These fish could be different species for tailored locations [bog vs Zig] and different baits could give bonuses or penalties.

I propose any fish come in 3 sizes: Sm, Med, Lg and could be sold to the local fish monger for 1, 2 or 3 coin and a little XP per fish.

As for implementation this could  be a device based action, a skill maybe or even a quest one would have to click on...don't know anything about how the EFU:A magic is done behind the scenes...just my 2 cents 9and change) :D

Weather could be a factor...Equiptment failure if big fish is caught could play in..whatever!  I think a SIMPLE fishing system to start would add more to do IG and be an AWESOME social outlet.

I think fishing systems are great too

I remember playing a wildhearts dungeon game that revolved entirely around a fishing system, and as long as you constantly reward/punish the player while he's fishing.. I.e give him the ability to catch Worn boots, chewed boots, etc it can make cataching a fish very rewarding.

However : one addition I think- Magical fish (that perhaps cast light wounds) or other minor spells would add an extra dimension to the ability to cash them in, which by the way i think should be added as well.

Rod suggestions:
