Scripted way for patricians to buy PC slaves

I feel that in order for a Patrician to own a PC as a slave their has to be a big prelude for a DM to organize and stuff while big auctions are great it kind of sucks for patricians to have to wait for a prelude to buy Pc slaves so I think an awesome idea would be to add starting as a slave an option in the starting area and it starts you off in Gustavos cell in Old port and allow some scripted way for a Patrician to buy said PC slave I think it would be an awesome idea if this was possible or do DMS want controlled auctions for patricians buying slaves!?

While this particular method has some serious flaws, I am a HUGE fan of PC slavery. And you should be too.

If a scripted way is possible, that would be sweet. Run these events weekly dudes. The Mur slave sales were always super rad and led to super rad events. Like lone Spellguard Associates laying total waste to a Seeker warband because they thought a friend of the Spellguard had bought a slave- not knowing that he had already planned on freeing her anyways, thus making them wrong and, well, dead. Still one of my favorite stories of EfU and I didn't even watch the action, my character simply heard the story told!

Slaves provide one of the most flavorful (is that a word?) opportunities for intimate interaction (not in a lovethesuit kind of way) between two characters that would very often not come into contact whatsoever! Will they get along? Will the slave earn their freedom, or will the master keep them in bondage? Will the master need to discipline an unruly slave? AAHHH! So much cool potential!

Then why is it slave prelude auctions it allows patricians to buy slaves?

Owning and freeing are two different things. However, the website simply says that a master may choose to set their slaves free; I don't see anything where it says only nobles may free slaves, but I haven't really been keeping up with recent events.

I also don't see why someone can't apply be to someone's slave (who gives to a DM an appropriate amount of gold if necessary), and then use the colony starting portal, where they can then meet up with their master.

I suppose an automated cage might be nice, but I don't see this as being something done terribly frequently.

I was just thinking a scripted way for patricians to get slaves would be cool so that way slaves are not just gotten Via DMs or DM Auction Events I think itd be pretty cool if their was a way to get PC slaves without Dms.

Give an XP bonus either directly or via some sort of script that gives a 5%-10% XP bonus (probably made to be temporary, ending at level 6 or something) to slave PCs. A small mechanical incentive to coincide with the less visible but quite real RP bonus for playing a slave.

Honestly, I'd prefer if DMs just held slave markets regularly. Every Sunday at noon EST is "slave day" at the docks or something. Might get a PC merchant to pick up the merchant day that Malatestas threw a few times. Those were extremely fun! Side note: For any players reading, although we Malatestans never charged, if the Market Day works out for you too, you can DEFINATELY find ways to make a serious profit off this idea. Someone, take this idea and run with it.
