Listen Skill / Whispers

Not sure if this is implementable. Just an idea which came to my mind.

Here goes:

Depending on the Listen skill, the higher it is, increase the range from where the Whispers are heard.

Such as:

5 Listen = 5 more feet
10 Listen = 10 more feet
15 Listen = 15 more feet.

etc


Not a clue if scriptable, wanted and all that jazz, just thought it could be nice!

PnP has rules for hearing whispers, I don't know if that could be translated into NWN, would be nifty.

But yes, I agree this is a good idea.

Not only that but how can you hear a whisper from far away? whispers are like quiet, quiet talking like merely a tone.

Well, I know that on another server, Arelith, to be exact, if you are in stealth and using their disguise feature and speaking common, other people will hear what you say/emote even though they can't see/hear you. It's just they see something like 'Bob (Disguised): *a voice comes from somewhere in the darkness* Hello, fred.', and you see it in your combat chat. Maybe there's a way to do this, so that when people whisper you recieve certain messages in your combat chat window, such as:

DC 15: Hear whisper from 10-15 feet away (recieve a message saying " is whispering something"), understand from 5-10 feet away (recieve a message saying " *whisper*: ."
DC 20: Hear whisper from 15-20 feet away, understand from 10-15 feet away
DC 25: Hear whisper from 20-25 feet away, understand from 15-20 feet away
DC 30: Hear whisper from 25-30 feet away, understand from 20-25 feet away

And as for hearing quiet whispering from 15+ feet away, it is possible, in real life, and certainly in this fantasy world where the seemingly impossible becomes quite probable. I have very sensitive ears and can hear and often understand whispering from across rooms and sometimes from other rooms.

Though if this is impossible to script, then oh well, but it would be nice to have if there is some way.
