You know one of my favorite things on Baldur's Gate were the group battles, where you would take your party of six up against another 'equal' party of six other adventurers - not just regular old NPCs.  The most memorable one is when my[very underpowered] party with my main PC as a dual wielding ranger, told Drizzt that I was keeping his scimitar, and he wasn't getting it unless he took it from my cold, lifeless hands.  So he did.

Does that exist at all on this server?  I've never seen it but then again I'm fairly new and have only seen a few PvP battles as it is.

ive had same epic group pvps on efu and a few on efu a you just gotta be in the right factions or with a group that are actively causing conflict with others i reckon

Some of the finest moments have been group PvP.

It was alot more common on EFU (The underdark part back in the day).

Things such as the Tooth Rebellion, Sewertown activities, and Montezzi drew in alot of PC vs. PC Conflict, giant brawls in the streets of Lower Sanctuary by PCs of all walks of life.

I've had a group PVP DM event creep up on our party when we weren't paying attention before actually (A good reason not to play at 3am, it fries your ability to read between the lines of what the DM is implying).

I have also on one PC, Merristan Waynolt, Priest of Talos deliberately cultivated a "friendly" rivalry with a street gang PC faction. Rather than plot to wipe each other out, our members were beating the snot out of each other on a regular basis for bragging rights. We even coordinated things with shit-talking sendings. It was some of the best fun I had on the server, and good practice in EfU style PVP fighting as you didn't lose all your gaer or your PC by losing (just your dignity).

If you want to see group PVP situations, then setting up team Fight Nights or getting involved in controversial factions is the way to promote it.

You bet it exists!

One of my fondest drow moments was a big sewer fight. My drow, Zau, Squeegle, a burly Tigereye >.>, dholt's drow were faced with PCs blocking the two ways out. There was six of them. We had always planned for such a contingency...

Zau gave them plenty of opportunity to leave alive and left no option he counted down from 10 while he potioned up. I laid elemental wards and prepared. With the elemental protections laid, when the clock struck zero and Zau began swinging I dropped two fireballs right on us as we had always talked of (SR is a beautiful thing). Two went down. The rest were no match for the veteran PCs who cut them down one by one. At the end of the battle, the lone 1/2 orc survivor broke and fled...he never saw the combust coming. The battle ended there...our foes all slain, and not a loss to our side.

As always, we were grateful for the Tigereyes for tidying up the unsightly ends and insuring a good story was in place about "what really happened".

Good times ;)

I'd say the majority of PvP on EFU and possibly EFU:A has been group battles of some kind. They are fun, much more so than 1v1!

As mentioned, the best way to get into such things would be to join or create a faction that is likely to be at odds with others as you pursue your agenda. A healthy dose of conflict makes the server interesting and exciting!

my group is me and the other group is everyone else usually

Group PvP is one of the funnest aspect of EfU, though I must warn, it can also be one of the most frustrating.

It's really fun when there's a major rivalry going on, the Montezzi times are a good example. Montezzi had an expert spy network, so when me and a bunch of allies marched out to take them on, we waltzed right into a trap. It was frustrating and we pretty much got destroyed, but I must admit, it had been a war going on for a while, so it was really a good way to end the whole conflict, though afterwords, there were some small-scale skirmishes and gankings going on. Usually 'tezzis who decided to remove the survivors to insure there wasn't any chance of a return. Can't say I agree with the tactic of ganking, but the reasoning, trying to stop another rise, was accurate (even though technecally none of us were looking to get another beating that soon).

But once all hell lets loose, group PvP is fun, and you do get a smug satisfaction when you win. This I personally experianced with the Bog Boys attacking the Guardhouse, that was fun.

So if you get two factions trying to jump eachother's throat and engage in a battle, it can be one of the funnest things in EfU, especially if both sides are ready, rested, and itching with hair-trigger.

Only when those involved aren't experienced and skilled in the mechanics.
