There are still ninjas around?

Takinbymadness

Ninjas as you are thinking of them do not still exist. However, there are practitioners and masters of Ninjutsu. These are the modern-day ninja, even if they don't actually go on spying or assassination missions for the Shogun anymore.

And again, for the record, I'm not suggesting any changes to the server with this thread, I was just asking a question.  Thank you.

N/A

QuoteLowering the damage: Sorry Mort, I know that idea is for balance issues, but it's kind of BS. Any sword worthy of being called a real katana should have 1d10, if not more.

None of the weapons that can be used with weapon finesse do more than 1d6 damage. A jump from 1d6 to 1d10 is pretty big.

Look, I'm going to make a halfling ninja with a katana.
Why?

Because he won't be able to finesse it anyway, so the point will be moot despite his high dexterity.

Because then I can legitimately claim that HINJA! is a word, in the Realms.

Crod Mondoon

He meant Reel Ninjas, not real ninjas, a common syntax error.
Reel Ninjas occur in tons of martial arts and action films.

Take into account the katana cannot be ffectively dual-wield and it has a critical of 20x2.

Shortsword, rapier, both 18-20x2 if i'm not mistaken.

An extra 2 damage on each attack seems fair as a trade-off. So 1d10 sounds good for me.

Katana is 19/20 x2, shorsword is 19/20 x2.
