QuoteIt is not acceptable to target level 2-3 characters with muggings, ritual sacrifices, random beatings, or other PvP. If conflict occurs, it is acceptable to engage in PvP if they have done something to earn it. The exception to this is monstrous and app'ed characters.

It would be nice to have a player tool that can point out if a PC is a legitimate target for PVP, by checking their level and subrace and returning with a "legal target" or "illegal target" message.  There is, of course, probably nothing to be done for "app'ed" characters who are not a subrace member.  I suppose if "illegal target" was returned falsely, that's better than the alternative.

What this means is a certain level of common sense. If it's IC and reasonable, and it makes sense, level does not matter per say - this is all in terms of playing your role.

It is not often difficult to see if your target is hideously weak, runs around in rags and rusted chain, or so. Purpose is that you should not necessarily intentionally target only those that you know as a player to be easy pickings, just because they are new characters or lowbies, and if you do, play it as your character would but have some common courtesy to someone that obviously can't do anything to win in such situation.

It's been so quite long, and it applies to the spirit we endorse among players. Though every situation is it's own unique beast and there are countless of variables. What I said above stands in general, however. It simply is intended as means to not on purpose target those characters that you know have no hope against you at their early stages of existance, when it comes to mechanical matters.

There is no one right or wrong answer, and so such a tool would not only be terribly metagamy, it would be flawed by design.

Good on paper but a huge hassle. I do not believe a tool like this is needed because it is unnecessary work for the DMs and causes trouble with selecting PCs who deserve PvP. Mugging players should be able to tell with the safety cloak and exercise restraint.

There's nothing wrong with beating up low level people.

It's just annoying when someone is clearly hunting for level 2's because they want to flex some ego on them.

It's not so much what lvl is your target that matters, but why you're coming down on it, and how you behave when you see it's OMG way too easy.

It's also how you loot the poor guy when you've already 5000 coins to your name and a full inventory, that you make in 3 days while most people have a hard time gathering 1000 coins.

Idealy pvp should be fun for both parties involved (-whiners which are inevitable). If it's just you having fun, you're doing something wrong.
