How do folks feel about it for those who have gotten a chance to try it out?

Feels like Windows 7 coming after Windows Vista... That is, after the D&D 4th fiasco. I have only looked around some books, never really tried, but it's more of the style 'back to basics', some things even simpler than ever, so, I like it. I like how there's not much in the way of all those math modifiers, you have advantage, normal roll or disadvantage. Advantage gets you to roll two dice and choose the best result, normal roll is a normal roll, and disadvantage to roll two and get the worst. I don't see myself playing P&P anytime soon because reasons, but if I would, I'd love to try it out, it looks really good. The WoW model copied into D&D on 4th was completely wiped out, seemingly trying to achieve more old school players rather then 'tabletop video games' for kids.

Played a good bit of 5th edition with friends. Very simple and druids can transform into raptors.

EDIT: Why do you keep posting instead of playing?

Diz-e

I fully support 5th ed.

It may be several weeks more until I get it going, but I'm prepping to run a 5th ed. campaign online using roll20.net, if anyone's interested. I'm considering using either my own campaign world, to develop and beta it for publishing, or possibly adjusting the old 2nd ed. lore of the Dark Sun setting for this purpose.

Just a heads up.

Pandip

I don't dislike 5e, which is a good start. I still haven't had a chance to play it, though.

Someone should run a rolld20 game, amirite?

5e is better then pathfinder. If you enjoy D&D, you'll probably like it. I dropped 3e like a stack of rocks for 4e once upon a time (and a good 4e game was something pretty incredible), however 5e is a much cleaner system all the way around. Thumbs up for the most part.

I still would recommend either Apocalypse World or Dungeon World if you like role-playing more then over board-games.
