The scavengers are creatures that wait for their prey to die or to become weak enough so that they can attack with little trouble for themselves. In the Underdark, the ever treacherous cave prowler waits for the chance to jump upon weak prey in order to feed upon them without being seriously harmed.

In a similar way, a band of adventurers, mercenaries and bandits slowly starts to gather around a sinister cult in honor to a Mulhorand Deity of Darkness and Evil known as Set.Their main objective is to plunder the drow tombs of the Underdark, seeking for an artifact promised in a prophecy, one that would grant their leader strange and unspoken powers. They're also interested into shady deals and anything else that might make them stronger and more capable of overcoming the obstacles to their plans, using any means at their disposal
Alignment: Neutral or Evil

Race: Any (we would love a fallen Aasimar!), monsters and deformed people got a special place in my heart

Class: Any (druids and paladins accepted if fallen/ corrupted), Necromancers and Archaeologists got a special spot for... reasons

Faith: For the Mercenary Company, any (fallen and disgraced followers of good/ silent deities also accepted), for the Inner Cult, Set

Goal: Find all tombs of the Underdark and beyond. Desecrate them, plunder them, and build a big hoard.

Hub: Any, with bigger focus on the wilderness and Lower Sanctuary (people to spy on Upper accepted)

"We should have seen the end coming. In the far, far off land of Chessenta the outsiders came. Travelers tell the stories of Faerunians working dark spells in the Old Kingdoms, trying to reanimate dragons, and an entire city that fell to entropy. Their godking, a mighty war hero named Tchazzar, united their countries warring city states and purged his domain of the foreigners. Yet still this darkness had been allowed to come...

To our neighbor, the once glorious Untheric nation, a shadow of doom was cast. The devious machinations that coerced Assuran to abandon his people and flee to Faerun where he would come to use the foreigner name Hoar would be the death of their entire country. Poisoned with power-madness their sole surviving godking, Gilgeam, broke the fundamental laws we know as maat and subjected his own people to unfathomable evils.

Even our homeland blessed under Re-Who-Lives-Through-Horus suffers. Evil powers have brought the outsider darkness from Faerun, Shar, into the shadow of Horus-Re where her tempring whispers stole from our lands the beauty of Baast. Mulhorands people celebrate her memory but there is something missing in all our hearts with the absence of our beautiful goddess. A loss that outsiders whose gods do not live amongst men could never possibly understand. A wound that invites sorrow and the poison of the Dark Lord.

Surely it is He whom is responsible for all our sufferings. It is He that whispers with a serpents tongue and brings doom to the Old Kingdoms which rejected Him. What eyes could have seen how large His maw, how jealous His heart, how toxic His venom, how dark His breath. Now I feel with senses awakened the chaos of maat dead and broken and the entire world desecrated to be remade with His own image.

These eyes I pluck that I suffer not His darkness. These ears I gouge that I sufer not the screams of torment that are His laughter. This tongue I cut that I suffer not the poison in my mouth that is the name of the Dark Lord. The name that has blackened the sun and the name that brings terror to the dreams of men.

The name of Set."

This old scrap of a journal entry flutters through the caverns of the underdark, sticking to lichens before being brushed free and fluttering to a new home.

If you're interested in some real evil that makes the dark gods of Faerun green with envy and Bane jealous that he's such a weak shadow of a tyrant by comparison then hit up Granny. There is a whole lot of lore to explore and reveal regarding Set, Dendar, and so much of the Underdark.
