Quick and easy custom signature.

While this won't make anyone a graphic designer, this simple method allows you to make nice, personnalized signatures for your characters. You only need to use Paint and know how to take a screenshot. (Press Print Screen button on your keyboard and select ''paste'' in any picture editor. It could be Paint.)

1 - Choose and download a font you like at this site: http://www.1001freefonts.com

2 - Install it by right-clicking on the file, (unzip it first) you should have the option to ''install'' the font to your selection of fonts, which will be available in any word processing program (also picture editors...like Paint.) In case you wouldn't have it, you can also just bring it in your Windows/Fonts folder.

3 - Open Paint.

4 - Go to a topic on the forums (could be this one) and take a screenshot.

5 - On Paint, paste your screenshot. (Either with the right-click option or press CTRL + V)

6 - ''Select'' a part (a large rectangle) of the background colour in the text/message section. Copy it, paste it and leave it at the left upper part of the picture where it appeared. Copy/paste more than you need, just in case.  (Quick trick: you select, do CTRL + C, click elsewhere then CTRL + V)

7 - Readjust the size of your picture to make sure you get only that background colour rectangle as your picture.

8 - Now write your signature or whatever you want. Give it the colour and size desired, adjust the picture size. Afterwards you just have to host your picture on a picture hosting website and VOILA! You get this!

OPTIONAL - If you go to 1001freefonts.com and go to the fantasy category, there are some interesting mythical creatures that could be used as, say, a signet ring right after the name. Or make mixes, you can get interesting results.

GOODIES:
Free picture-hosting website : Imageshack
A slightly more complex, yet easy-to-use picture editor - Photofiltre (Pick freeware edition)
A program to make a NWN portrait version of a picture - Converter (no installer left, and it looks like it can work on its own...tell me if this file alone is enough.)
And if you need inspiration for new/existing concepts - Background generators

If you're willing to do a little bit more homework, consider downloading GIMP and utilizing transparent backgrounds.
