Gloik, Svirfneblin Super Squad

Gloik was my first attempt at playing a subrace on EfU. I usually stick to humans or dwarf so to play one of the smaller races was interesting to say the least. The hope was to play a sneaky xenophobic coward, expressing some of the worst traits Deep Gnomes have to offer. I got the sneaky down part, just not as I hoped! I wasnt sneaky mechanically but boy oh boy did people forget there were more svirf around!

He faded into the background on most things he did, always scratching a nasty self inflicted burn scar on his neck when nervous or agitated.

Unfortunately I dont have many pics of his end, the subfolder I made of all the Big Battle Event ended up squishing all the pics to thumbnail size. So take my word for it when I say he died doing the only heroic thing of his life, swinging across to take on a drow warship by himself. It did not end well.

A BIG Thanks to HerDarkMajesties, Scrappa, Griff, Wundy and Stranger, not to mention Howland for letting me in on this little shindig! Hope to see everyone after finals... but yeah, screeny time!



A shot of our wonderful home, Pre-burning Drow Slaughterfest... And there you can see Nim. Gloik HATED Nim with a passion and actually considered quietly doing away with him for a while there. Favorite moment of RP was pushing him over in a disagreement and then refusing to help him up afterwards. Yeah, Gloik was a dick. no hard feelings Stranger?









Of course when we were all logged on the Svirfneblin were nearly EVERYWHERE, so we had plenty of long hikes thru the Dark...







And, though he was probably the least stealthiest, I did some solo skulking!











We had a few visitors to the isle, and of course a lot of diplomacy. Gloik thought diplomacy was the first step into Darkness for his people. Depends on who you ask if he was right!





Oddly enough, Gloik seemed to have this vendetta against Drow. Never managed to catch one by himself, but I tried, I swear! And them Drow Thralls are scary. REAL Scary.









One of the last things I managed to do was be part of Tomber's amazing Earth Wheel ritual... I *guess* it was kinda cool. Taking my lunch break to fly up the highway back to apt to grab my laptop to play at work was totally worth it, though i was terrified I would crash halfway through and trap Tomber in rock forever...

and lastly, what I have of his Death... At least I was killed by a Drow Captain and not some wayward spell!

Gloik was a very cool gnome that I had a good time running around with, even though our play times were vastly different. Glad you got to make it to the end, and see the plot through. Good luck on the next PC, BTH

Well played PC- the burn on his neck was a fun detail. He always came across as the most angry and paranoid of the Deep Gnomes.
