Bugged deities

Tried to create a paladin some time ago, selected the Red Knight deity using the altar in-game for selecting deities and wasn't able to use any abilities like Lay on Hands, etc. Tonight I tried to go back to that character concept but as a cleric; picked the Red Knight and started getting spell failure. My character was Lawful Neutral, with the War and Plot domains, so I'm not sure what went wrong.

As a test, also tried to create a cleric of Gargauth and it said that while it was a valid deity, it was inappropriate for my character. My alignment was Lawful Evil, not sure why it didn't work either...

As a result, my vault on "Lazy Mermaid" is littered with broken characters, which is made worse by the fact that they all have the same custom holy-ish portrait that I was intending to use for a divine-based character and similar names. :(

I'd be really thankful if it was possible to clear the vault, all characters in it can go, except for Maya Rizzo. Although if the app I submitted doesn't get through, I'll probably just use a different Gamespy ID and it'll stop mattering altogether.

Thanks in advance, would like to know if it's a bug that's causing all this or if it was a mistake I made. I strictly used the deity tool in-game, didn't write anything during character creation.

1. Red knight was initially on the list of dead deities, but was removed some time after. Perhaps the spellfailure script wasn't updated?

2. Lawful evil isn't an acceptable Alignement for Garagos - you can read under the deity that ''Chaotic good, Chaotic Neutral and Chaotic evil'' are the possible alignements.

As for the vault clearing - the best way is to just create a new account. Many of us here suffer from ''Vault cleanliness OCD'' and that's the best way to go.

I'd recommend setting your deity at character creation and not using the altar in game if you're playing a divine class at all, it is known to sometimes bug out weirdly and it can be a bit of a nuisance.

The Red Knight works fine, having tested it myself, so it does seem that you've just had a wonky moment with the altar :)
