To the Veteran's Vanguard

This is a binding contract, signed by free individuals of sound mind and willing heart. This contract is guaranteed by the authority and honor of Condottiera Mirielle Rosseau of the Banda Rossa. Should either party violate their part in this contract, they shall be barred in perpetuity from entering the Krak des Roses.

In acknowledgement of continued political patronage from Dante Moretti, the mercenaries of the Veteran's Vanguard promise to support him in the upcoming Qdim Election. They shall cast their votes for him in the Gold League primary and again in the general election as Voiced citizens.

At the conclusion of this election, should Dante Moretti be victorious, the Veteran's Vanguard shall be reincorporated as the "Brotherhood of the Axe." All contracts held by the Vanguard shall be legally transferred to the Brotherhood, which shall be recognized by the Legate as a formal institution of Ephia's Well.

The Axe Brothers shall be conferred with the following responsibilities:

• The protection of the Synod, an ecumenical gathering of Wheel priests who meet every month to elect a spiritual leader.
• The protection of the clergy of Wheel as a body, defending their persons from any physical harm.
• The protection of holy sites of the Wheel, challenging any who would defile a sacred place.

The Brotherhood shall be entitled, in turn, to a tithe at the Synod. Each individual who would sit as a representative at the gathering shall pay to the Axe Brothers a tithe of 1000 dinars. If a spokesman of the Wheel does not make this donation to the Axe Brothers, then the government shall not count their vote when determining who should be the Hakem for that term. The Brotherhood shall be entitled, further, to require fair payment from the clergy of the Wheel for the security they provide to their persons and places.

Any secondary mercenary work performed the Axe Brothers shall, of course, only continue.
