Lieutenant Colmes,

I bid you fair winds and the purest of water.  I pen this letter to you from a hospital bed.  Through all the prayers and painful skin grafts, the Priests say I will recover in time.  It is so distant and strange. All I remember is waking up in a sea of charred and hacked apart Orcan corpses.  While joy filled my chest that I am among the living, simultaneously I have never felt more alone in my life.  And from me, that is saying a lot.

Given the carnage left behind, I trust you and the Rose were successful in your mission.  To my profound regret, I was not in mine.  It was my mission to serve stoutly by your side as we brought the War to the Orcan footsteps.  As you know, there is no greater threat to our beloved Well then that which is posed by those Orcan cur.  Turns out, I am absolutely Shit of a Torchbearer.  My footsteps echo for miles through tunnels and subterrains.

I close this letter with my warm regards and thanks for the mission you led.  We are safer for what you did and the sacrifices you continue to make to keep our beloved Well safe.

Hosan,

You will recall, within that accursed forge, that the magical traps saw fit to ensnare the pair of us in a room filled to the brim with the Enemy. Spears and arrows darting in from every side, with no breathing room to spare beyond arms length. But my mind was at peace, because if and when I meet my end, I will do so with at least one of my brother-in-arms of the Fourth. Though you are no longer in uniform, you remain one of our own.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

Lt. R. Colmes
Warmaster

Lieutenant Colmes,

Your warm words are well received, brother.  My sincere gratitude in full for each and every word.  It pleases me to say, I am now on my feet and have turned my attention to productive tasks and purposes.

Recently, I became aware of the most troubling Torchbearer Scouting reports, which are combined with scattered Bedouin accounts, that relay the forces of Orthog the Eviscerator had joined forces with Gorogh the Ironmaw and Tarrghuul the Plague.  Their combined forces swell beyond any reasonable ability to count and measure.

These cursed cur have now turned their Ire to our beloved Well, and our people within.  I am unsure how long we have before these creatures arrive upon our Walls.  There can no longer be any doubt that full and absolute War is upon us all.

It is to this collective troubling sum, I humbly request your permission for me to return to full service and duty within the Honored Fourth Legion.  I have found that Voiced Civilian and Torchbearer life is a Tunic that it appears attractive upon the Merchant sales rack.  However, I found it to be uncomfortable and ill-fitting upon my person.   If I am to die, I beg for it to be in the tight-fitting uniform of the Fourth.
