[The Mummy Money]

I arrived on caravan a few days ago.  Immediately I began my attempts at enlisting.  This proved to be problematic.  The Fourth Legion is terribly understaffed.  I was finally able to sign the paperwork and become a recruit.  They call them Scarabs.  What an insulting term.  I'll deal with it for now.

I can almost taste the corruption and crime here in Ephias Well.  It's like the bitter aftertaste of a cheap mead after a long days work.  They say that the cults and criminals freely live below in the Dry Gutter.  How disturbing.  I'll keep my eyes and ears open for now.  It's best to take in everything.  That is the only proper way to do a thorough investigation after all.
