Flavor

The Day the Sky Broke. A day no one will ever forget. When the Shade we so trusted resolved like morning dew. When the Ash came for our homes. When our city lied in tatters. When our heroes bled dry in the sands. They came back in ragged columns, followed by horrors. Great men died that day. We're what's left.

When the Legates turned to strategy and war, the League of White turned to the people, the huddled and fearful masses. Soon they came together, all kinds of people. There were veterans, hardened by battle, angry at the men who'd let them down. There were wild-eyed social crusaders, holding Asterabadi aloft. There were soft-spoken priests dressed in nothing but rags. Even a few dilettantes slumming it with the commons. Every hand was needed to rescue people from the Ash, carry vital medicine to the Tablet, and care for the injured and mangled veterans.

But for what? Just so they can do it all again? Lead more of our sons and daughters like lambs to slaughter? No. So we can go hungry and thirsty while the fat cats in Palm Heights play in their fountain. No. So we can sit by while our fates are decided for us by a bunch of merchants and Baz'eeli exiles? No, and never again! Until today, we've been nothing. From now on, we will be everything!

Unite beneath the White Banner! Hoist the Gyrfalcon aloft! For the Future! For the Well! For the People!

Domhnall Guivarch is founding a militant and activist arm of the League of White, the Volunteers. In light of the Well being blown up, half of its population dying in a war, and the general atmosphere of chaos and rampant brookery, a group of militants for the League of White aiming to engage in community defense and by any means necessary see a White Legate would be pretty cool, especially considering the fact that the League of White has spent every election cycle shitting the bed. Members would be asked to wear white cloaks and take to the streets in active promotion of the League and its interests with a bit of discipline.

Want to brawl with Purples in the streets? Want to rough up some merchants in the Souk? Want to engage in political subterfuge and ratfuckery? Sign up. Want to do charity work to feed the hunger, help with the Headwater and Almshouse, and be a Robin Hood? Sign up. Want to Read Theory and call your friends revisionist scumbags? Sign up. Want to be a mini-cop and report suspicious individuals to the Jannies? Want to go on witch-hunts for Orentids and a Brooker Conspiracy among the upper classes? Want to upset the entire political order, enforce a radical agenda, and see how far you can make the normal political process bend before it breaks? You get the picture.

If the Volunteers are successful, you might get access to an HQ and free storage. Operations would be financed by membership dues and donations. Members are free to introduce initiatives to the group, petition for how things might be run, and really make their impression on the shape of things to come.
