Good people of the Cinquefoil Rose,

While for now days are relatively peaceful I wished to speak on the matter of the Krak, and the Refugees who rest just beyond it. While I understand that during an Ash Storm the people can find relative safety in the ruins scattered about I fear that, one day, brazed raids or attacks by Qa'im might expose these people to a danger beyond anything we knew so far.

As such, I wished to query, in the event that we are aware of a raid or force from Qa'im heading toward the City, would the Refugees be allowed to seek reprieve in the Krak, and also deeper into the Plaza, without being harassed or stopped?

I wish to avoid a situation where people fleeing Qa'immi Harvesters would find the gates locked before them, with nowhere to flee or escape to.

My friend,

As we said in my mother tongue: "Doubt offends"! We of the Cinquefoil were the first to raise our voices for the sake of these refugees when everyone else was presuming they were enemies or slaves to sell. We of the College fought to ensure we had grain for them.  So many of our number died for their safety.

Obviously, it'd be terribly silly to go through all of that and just let them die!

Now, obviously we can't have the Krak full of people on a day-to-day basis, but I have no doubt that they would be allowed to flee through the Krak des Roses in case of emergency. The Grandmaster has shown her commitment to their safety, and while I cannot speak for her nor the Capitana, this truly feels like a self-evident deduction.

Should I receive an indication to the contrary, I shall inform you. For the time being, however, I think you may take this matter out of your endless pile of worries.

Yours,

Alejandro
