Dead Magic Zones

Just a thought here after something cropping up yesterday-

Would it be possible to have dead magic zones something like the beholder lair in the Hordes of the Underdark campaign where no magic can be cast plus all your items temporarily lose all their stats and potions become useless (They went blank if I remember). This I think removed all stats from all items so it would remove item spells like Magic Weapon/Flame weapon/Mage Armour etc...

A +2 slashing damage weapon is not magical though if it is mundane but of top quality (think serrated halberd)

Neither is armor with a reinforced layer of protection, or other superior craft etc. Are those +2 ms. "Soft Sole" boots magical, or are they so quiet because of this thing in the design?

There would have to be a plethora of exceptions to the script.

As above was written, there are several possible issues and bugs that we've already gone through and investigated, and right now all of the solutions simply would not be worth it. It would be an investment of long time and many, many resets and bug tests and hours of fixing scripts.
