"Dear Legate Sol Auk,

I took the time to consider a few things insofar as it relates to my new office as well as past struggles I've experienced in roles with government; both as an onlooker and ambassador. I feel, largely, the problem Chairman Argus faced was a lack of clarity and definition in his duties. Indeed, I struggled to find anything listed. The vagueness of his office's role in how it was to be conducted was also something that likely compounded a lack of interest or initiative from parties and persons of import who should have been seeking him out. As such, I've taken the time to clearly define the duties and expectations of my own so that performance may be measured, but so to its role in government and politics in Ephia's Well.

I also did some research and consultation, I've determined the most appropriate title with historical precedent for senior ambassadors, concerning what was discussed, is the following:

Chancellor.

Hitherto and measured by the success or failure concerning the following duties:


Foreign Diplomacy:

~ In coordination with the janissaries: Selecting, vetting and forwarding recommendations for candidates insofar as it relates to the offices of the Citadel's Ambassadors.
~ Advising, training and directing candidate-aspirants for the office of Ambassador so they are equipped for their diplomatic duties.
~ Overseeing and administering coordination between Ambassadors' diplomatic efforts in regular meetings to ensure cohesion between offices.
~ Reporting any breach of the state's interest insofar as it concerns conduct or actions performed during representation of Ephia's Well.
~ Forward consultation and any notable developments to the Legates insofar as it relates to the Citadel's agenda with outside powers.
~ Relaying and issuing directives from the state insofar as it relates to foreign policy and willed representations.

Domestic Diplomacy:

~ Mediating between representatives of the Accord and Leagues insofar as it relates to conduct and rules of future elections. Agreements to be forwarded as agreed by involved parties in recommendation.
~ Mediating between representatives of the Accord and Leagues insofar as it relates to policies and proposals. Namely, their refinement and any compromises prior to notions in the Assembly for expedition and collation with word of law.

P.S An office (a literal one) at the embassy in the pyramid would go a ways in reassuring legitimacy of this position to residents and foreign diplomats alike. Nevermind the convenience of having documents readily available to the pyramid in my office, or that it would be an ideal place to mediate between the Leagues and Accord's affiliates."

Appearing to have been in some sort of spat and contentious feud, does a Scribe arrive muttering the name Rakim, delivering a missive at the Palm Heights office of the Purple League before storming to Elossi's

Your choice of title acceptable and well rooted in both Baz'eelan history and draped in the austerity of the Purple League.

To your concerns over Argus' position - Merchantile effort and Trade investment best left without governmental oversight to allow a degree of lateral investment and prosperity. Proven as by which the Gold League sits the most powerful league in Ephia under the Chairman's stewardship while the White and Gold require more hands on cultivation.

To your addendum and post script - The Office you have is the Purple Leauge, there is a door there which may be locked, there is a door there behind which you and your loyal and faithful of the Wheel and Baz'eel may rebuild and grow your future. That office you may use as you please, as Argus does for the Gold League. Make of it your own and welcome guests as you see fit. It is not a far walk from the Pyramid but the Palm Heights offers so much more in terms of relaxation and splendor as the wealthiest district of the most interesting and cultured peoples.

Else you are well within your right as Voiced to once more secure Office of Particular Import as you did in the past - should you wish a degree further of privacy.

A: Confirmed. Communicate with any Janissary of Sergeant Rank to see both Purple and Janissary Reports submitted to the Office of any Legate, for weight by both.
B: Confirmed. Begin recruitment from the Populace of two tier - The Voiceless of ambition and Voiced of interest. Seek one Purple League member to join the Scribes to ensure Baz'eel kept appraised.
C: Confirmed. Baz'eel's influence abroad, and by extension, the Purple League's is a worthy tool. Coordination of such a tool why you sought for the labor.
D: Confirmed. Sellsword, Mercenary,y and more tend to go abroad believing they act with impunity. Observation and Report may be directed to the Office of any Legate, for weight by Both.
E: Confirmed. Purple League assets abroad may engage in lowest-scale Espionage to ensure interests abroad. Observation and Report only. Further action required weight by Office of Any Legate.
F: Confirmed. Where the Gold League is the economic arm of the Ephian Governance, The Purple League will serve as its Voice abroad.

A: Rejected. Mediation may be done between Purple League and the Accord as you please but Conduct and Rules of Election are mandate of The Sultanate of Baz'eel and the Scribes of the Sublime Garden.
B: Partial Confirmation: Mediation may be done between Representatives of the Accord and the Purple League of Purple League matters at your leisure. Additional consultation with the Accord SIgnatories for Charity to refine their proposals, and further is of course a service you may offer to any Officer or Voiced. However The Gold and White Leagues tend their own negotiations with the Accord.
