Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi

[A hand-delivered letter arrives at the College in the Krak des Roses.]

Lynneth,

I have written separately to Alejandro. I had not had the chance to speak with him at any length after all that happened.  But as I have intimated to you, the last task of this great test is to remember our honored dead.  A memorial to those that are gone. So many of the Cinquefoil fallen are recorded in honor as "ye the dead." But we must know their names and stories also.

You knew Pirouette almost as well as any other in our Krak des Roses. I plan to write an introduction. I have asked Alejandro to write a poem that shall be a centerpiece of a memorial to her. I would ask you to consider what concluding words may befit her epitaph and commend these to me. I have written separately to Alejandro. I had not had the chance to speak with him at any length after all that happened.

Yours,

Amelie

Possessed of an endless kindness. Your allure and charm undeniable by all who knew you. Your heart brave and pure and bold.

QuoteAmelie,

I am sorry this took so long, my friend. I have mulled long over these words, and how best to honor her.

My heart remains heavy over her loss. Every time I pass by her bench in the plaza, I look there, and expect to see her waiting.

Lynneth,

Enclosed is a copy of the draft I shall stand by. You have my thanks for the contributions of word and deed, for the hell that we endured, and I have commended you unto the Grandmaster for both.

Yours,

Amelie
