A letter delivered to Quendi Giftgiver at Spring's Gift

Dear Speaker Quendi and kin,

I write to you with concerning news.

I have attended the first assembly of the new leadership of Ephia's Well, currently headed by a Stonefolk named Sol Auk.

They have a process they call "allotment" in which they distribute their funds. Each of the factions presents an argument for why they deserve more, or all, of these funds.

The Cinquefoil is one of these factions. Their representative spoke of a desire and need for expansion and to engage in "conquest" of the surrounding lands.

The Legate approved of their message and awarded them the largest portion of the allotment.

I do not know how far their ambitions extend. Clearly there are not a lot of places to "conquer" so I think it is best that we be watchful and ready.

I will remain in Ephia's Well for the time being, as much as it pains me to be apart from our home and to see the faces of my kin.
