Druid companions bonuses from CHA

Straightforward (relatively for a Vlaid suggestion) idea, druid companions get x/+1 where x = Charisma mod (probably capping at 5/+1).

Potentially could do the same thing with Rangers, still capping out at 5/+1 regardless of charisma with FE Animal.

OR

GMF could just apply the charisma based x/+1 DR to your companion while active. Which would obviously only increase the DR if you have a hefty charisma and enemies don't have +1

And/or to the above, potentially some kind of stat bonuses derived from the druid's charisma applied to their companion would be nice too since you are almost surely nerfing your personal melee ability to get more charisma. The power of HEART empowers your companion.

I love this suggestion, especially as the class seems to be simmering away from shapeshifting-powerhouses where animal companions almost seemed like a second thought in a lot of cases.

It's also strangely reminescent of barbarian-chariama-bonus benefits, in its own way, so it certainly encourages variety in druidic meta.

A+!

I'm not a big fan of adding yet another stat druids need when they're already a 3+ stat class. This premise worked on Barbarians because they only needed strength and con, so adding a third was fine. Something else to make the companions better would be nice though.

It's not really "need another stat" it's "build a druid in a different way"

What about a flat 5/+1 perma DR on the animal companion as an added bonus to taking the Skill Focus: Animal Empathy feat?

Druids I have to agree with VP are quite attribute-starved. But this is an excellent way to allow druids to demonstrate investment in their animal companion as part of their concept.
