Castle Creep Quest. horizontal grapple point broken

During our recent quest the main way out was blocked by a randomly spawned mushroom, not the bashable ones but a large white one that cant be targeted, we attempted to go around through the more dangerous path but the grapple point, at least from the castle side, did not work properly, when attempting to use the grapple it simple latched to the same spot, not attaching to the other end.
