Traps That Should Not Be Recoverable

The following traps should not be recoverable anywhere in the gameworld. This is simply for the reasons of balance as they are generally not fitting for EfU level range to be used by PCs unless given as a special prize for something:

Strong and Deadly Acid Blob Traps
Strong and above Electrical Traps
Deadly and Epic Fire Traps
Epic Frost Traps
Epic Sonic Traps
Deadly Spike Traps


If you find any of these traps recoverable anywhere (on quests, wilderness or elsewhere) do report here on this thread the location where you found them and destroy them by using a waste barrel.

If you are currently carrying any of the traps above acquired by above means, destroy them by using a waste barrel.

If you find a merchant selling any of the traps above, contact a DM first to inquire if they are meant to be in the shop selection.

Deadly Acid Blob Trap --> Seers (Whatever its really called, Main quest area, not the boss room), Lowest floor, in-front of three bookcases, near the staircase leading down.

Sonic - 32 max damage - 4 round stun (24 seconds) - allowed
Strong blob 72 max- 3 round paralysis (18 seconds) - Not allowed
Average electric - 90 max damage - no stun - allowed


If the concern is instant death from another player, I think all three of these are on the same playing field considering that the one setting the traps will have flanking sneak attacks. Further, the electrical trap is a decent AOE compared to the other two. I'd suggest either outlawing the other two or allowed the strong blob (not deadly) depending upon the team's viewpoint.


That or modify the trap damage instead of outlawing them, but I'm not sure what is possible in the toolset.
